Some knitters get intimidated by tackling socks: In this 90 min workshop, you will be introduced to afterthought heels, toes and cuffs! Our goal is to have you leave with the confidence to tackle socks using your preferred method (whether or not they are toe up or cuff down!), and if you need additional project support, you can always come back again for Quick Help or in a Bring Your Own Project class, or complete our entire Sock Series and join us for the Anatomy of a Sock, Toesies, and Heels & Gussets workshops!

Cancellation Policy: For all workshops, please communicate with instructors at classes@michiganfineyarns.com ahead of the date if you’re unable to attend or call the store. Please note that class workshops are non-refundable.

- Prerequisites: Knit, purl, knitting in the round
- Yarn + Class Materials: Please bring your preferred afterthought heel sock pattern and suggested materials. If comfortable, follow your pattern to the heel instructions and bring your WIP with you. (Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles/notions, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY.) If you need help planning your project, please let us know! We like this pattern for beginner toe up afterthought heel socks, and this pattern for beginner cuff down afterthought heel socks. For yarn, we recommend trying The Fibre Co.'s Amble and a pairing it with a contrasting mini for the afterthought heels.
