Time: Mondays 6-8pm; Thursdays 12-2pm; Saturdays 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-2:30p
Description: This class is of people who are brand new to knitting or looking for a refresher. It will teach you the basic skills needed to make beginner projects. At the end of these 4 classes you will have an understanding of the main stitches of knitting, how to start and finish a project. As well as knowing the different types of materials and how to read a pattern!
Yarn + Class Materials: size 8-11 US Needles and medium weight yarns. (Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY.)
Prerequisites: None Required
Cost: $60 for 4 Class Bundle or $20 for Drop-In Class

Meet Our Teachers
with Lindsey
Lindsey has been knitting since 2018, a good friend and neighbor inspired her to start. She was looking for a hobby to get through the slow afternoons at work. She instantly fell in love with knitting! She went out and picked up a complicated stitch pattern book and made it her mission to learn all the beautiful designs. This lead to her learning all the techniques in her first few years of knitting before actually constructing and finishing a project. She wanted to understand all of knitting, she is a person that jumps all into things. This combined with her artist and sewing background has made knitting come naturally to her.

Tricia teaches several courses at Michigan Fine Yarns, and also curates many of our online and special events. As a professor, Tricia has been instructing students for more than twenty years. At Michigan Fine Yarns, she combines that in-person and online instructional experience with her passion for yarn and knitting, which she’s been using as her mindfulness practice since grad school. Her favorite projects are ones that teach a new skill, or introduce a new “must have” knitting notion for that occasional retail therapy. Find her in store or online, and she’ll help you show off your knits so others can see the joy and peace they bring you!
