Ready to take your beginner knitting skills to the next level? In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll build on your basic knit and purl skills while learning how to knit a fun, chunky hat in the round.

You’ll start by working with circular needles and then learn how to transition to double-pointed needles (DPNs) as the hat takes shape. If DPNs sound intimidating, don’t worry, we’ll guide you step by step and be right by your side as you practice this essential skill.

This workshop is a great introduction to in-the-round knitting and a confidence-boosting way to tackle your first wearable accessory. By the end of class, you’ll feel more comfortable with circular knitting and ready to take on future hat projects.

And if questions come up after class, we’re always here for you, you can join us again for Quick Help or bring in your project to our Bring Your Own Project classses for extra support.

• Yarn + Class Materials: 100g of super bulky yarn, size US 13 15" circular needles, size US 13 DPNs.
  (Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles/notions, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY.)
  We recommend Plymouth Encore Mega or another super bulky yarn for this project!  If you prefer wood needles, we recommend the ChiaoGoo Red Lace circular needless, or if you prefer wood, the Lykke driftwood circular needles. Additional materials: Large ring markers and darning needles.
