Some knitters get intimidated by tackling socks: In this 90 minute workshop, you will be introduced to the basic anatomy of a sock, the many, many ways they can be constructed, and the basic skills you need to tackle your first pair of socks! Our goal is to have you leave with the confidence to tackle socks using your preferred method, and if you need additional project support, you can always come back again for Quick Help or in a Bring Your Own Project class, or complete our entire Sock Series and join us for the Toesies, Heels & Gussets, and Afterthought Heel workshops!

Cancellation Policy: For all workshops, please communicate with instructors at classes@michiganfineyarns.com ahead of the date if you’re unable to attend or call the store. Please note that class workshops are non-refundable.

- Prerequisites: Knit, purl, knitting in the round
- Yarn + Class Materials: Please bring some scrap yarn and appropriately sized needles for the yarn to practice with. (Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles/notions, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY.) In this class we'll introduce you to the many ways you can construct socks through demonstration materials - once you decide what your preferred approach will be we'll be happy to help you pick out project materials for your first set of socks! If you would like to select a yarn for your first pair of socks, we recommend trying Cascade Refine or Plymouth Yarns Shades of Sockotta.
