Welcome to the Blue Sky Fibers Ely Capelet Knit Along (KAL)! The Ely Capelet is covered in lattice cables and is the ideal layering piece to add to your wardrobe. The pattern is knit flat, seamed together and finished with a cozy cowl neck. Designed in soft and lofty Woolstok Tweed - a blend of 85% Fine Highland Wool, 15% Donegal and an MFY favorite! - the project calls for five to twelve hanks depending on size and gauge. The pattern is written for bust sizes 28-62".
We have Ely Capelet kits as well as plenty of all 14 colors of Woolstok Tweed in stock and ready for you! With lots of stunning neutrals and rich earthy tones, you cannot go wrong. This capelet will look amazing no matter which color you choose!
In addition to your yarn, you will need a US 11 (8mm) size knitting needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), US Size 10.5 (6.5mm) circular knitting needles with at least a 32" cable, a cable needle, a stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.
This is a great project for intermediate knitters, but beginners should not be deterred! There are not many techniques introduced in this pattern and are all easy to learn. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to cable with confidence, and we have tutorials to help you along the way!
