May Activities
May is a fun month in the fiber arts community. We celebrate "Me Made May" by proudly wearing our handmade garments and accessories. The Needle Arts Association has also created a "Stitch Every Day in May" initiative to encourage us to make time for ourselves. Read on to learn more about these community activities and how you can participate!
Me Made May
The concept of "Me Made May" is to promote makers wearing their handmade wardrobe openly and with pride. We pour love and intention into every stitch of our projects and they deserve to be worn in public and showcased for the beautiful works of art they are!

"Me Made May" is not a competition or challenge, but a recognition of our talents, hard work, and appreciation for our crafts. We encourage you to share your projects and support one another, whether your handmade wardrobe has one item or many!
Join in or follow along on social media with the hashtags #memademay and #memademay2026.
Stitch Every Day in May
The Needle Arts Association (TNNA) promotes the idea of stitching every day in May as a way to lean into our crafts during a busy time of year for many makers. We believe the fiber arts are the healing arts, so the concept of making time and space in our lives for even a few stitches each day resonates deeply!
Focusing on giving time to our crafts and creating a practice around stitching honors the impact they have on our lives. It can also instill new habits of allowing our minds an opportunity to rest and recharge away from screens and the pressures of daily life.
We hope you will see this initiative as an invitation and join the fiber arts community for some intentional, quality time with our stitches this May! If you'd like to track your progress, we've adapted a template from TNNA that you can download and print for free! Just click the button below!
