Day Tripper Picnic Blanket CAL: May/June 2022

Join Sirdar and Katie Jones for the sunniest make along of the summer.

Katie designed the Day Tripper Picnic Blanket exclusively for Sirdar, inspired by the pop art of Peter Blake and The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.

This beginner-friendly CAL starts with the simplest granny square and builds your crochet confidence over six weeks to create a bright, bold picnic blanket ready to make summer memories. Add more squares or repeat your favorite stitch patterns to make your blanket unique - just be sure to purchase more yarn if you intend on making it larger. As designed, the finished blanket is approximately 49" by 49".

Perfect for experienced crocheters and beginners alike, Katie’s design is made up of five square motifs in a graphic abstract pattern, to bring the joy of summer to your crochet hook.

Supplies

In addition to your yarn, you will need a size F (4mm) crochet hook and a tapestry needle.

We have kits in the original colorway, a neutrals option and a soft pastels option. Shade cards are below for reference.
