Welcome to the Blue Sky Fibers Northern Vest & Cowl Knit Along!

The Northern Vest & Cowl is a two-piece project that can be worn together or separately! Cozy and full of cables, these beauties are designed using Woolstok North - a super bulky, single ply 100% Fine Highland Wool - so they will work up quickly and provide a cozy warmth that is surprising light on the body! Both the vest and cowl patterns are written for sizes XS to 5X.

This is a great project for intermediate knitters, but if you're an adventurous beginner and want to give it a go - we're here for you! Either piece would be a fantastic, smaller project and lesson in cables!

Pattern

The pattern is part of the Blue Sky Fibers Autumn/Winter 2023 Collection and can be found on the Blue Sky Fibers website as well as on Ravelry. The pattern includes instructions for both the vest and cowl in sizes XS-5X.

Materials

We have lots of Woolstok North in stock and ready to squish in store or ship your way. With 12 gorgeous colors to choose from, it may be hard to pick just one! All the colors are complementary, so maybe you do the vest in one color and the cowl in another? So many possibilities!

In addition to your yarn, you will need a US Size 13 (9mm)* circular knitting needle with at least a 24" cable, a US Size 15 (10mm)* circular knitting needle with at least a 24" cable, a spare needle for a three-needle bind off (vest only), stitch holders or waste yarn (vest only), three 1 3/8 inch buttons (vest only), a cable needle, stitch markers (locking style for vest only), and a tapestry needle.

*Needle size may vary depending on your personal gauge.

The KAL for the Northern Vest & Cowl will begin February 14th and run through March 31st.
