Welcome to the 2026 Berroco Mystery Blanket Knit Along!

The 2026 Berroco Mystery Blanket Knit Along features twelve different square patterns that will be released one at a time throughout the year. Each square showcases a unique cable arrangement that's perfect for knitters eager to dive in and master these mesmerizing stitches! There will be how-to videos shared each month, and we are always here to assist if you get stuck on a particular square!

The blanket calls for three colors of Berroco Vintage - a popular worsted weight 50% Acrylic / 40% Wool / 10% Nylon blend that is soft, durable and machine washable! Once combined, the twelve 16" x 16" blocks and borders have a final measurement of approximately 51" x 66". (Size dependent on personal gauge and blocking.)

Pattern

Berroco shared that eagle-eyed knitters may notice this year's KAL is inspired by Norah Gaughan, Berroco's original cable queen, and her complex crowd favorite Norah's Vintage Afghan. They have adapted and updated a selection of squares to make the blanket a little more approachable and accessible to more knitters!

Beginning January 2026, a square design will be released on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Sign up with Berroco to receive the pattern installments right in your inbox!

Materials

Our team has curated some palette inspiration based on Berroco's suggested colorways! And of course we had to throw in one of our own suggestions too. 😉 Mix and match your favorite shades or even go with more than three colors!

Schedule

The MKAL will run from January 2026 through December 2026 with patterns being released the 2nd Tuesday of each month. 

Community

Join in or follow all of the activity on Instagram and Facebook! There will be live check-ins on the Berroco Makers Facebook group and you are always welcome to chat in our private MFY Make Along Facebook group! We also stitch together (almost) every Friday from 2:00-4:00pm and you are encouraged to drop in any time - we'd love to see you!

Assistance

If you want to participate but are anxious about committing to a large project or are worried about not knowing some of the techniques that may be used, we have a variety of resources available to help you throughout the process! Our instructors schedule BYOP (Bring Your Own Project) sessions as well as Quick Help times which are great opportunities to learn a new skill or navigate a particularly tricky technique.

Not able to make it in to see us? We offer Virtual Stitch Sessions with our instructors who can guide you through the steps from the comfort of your own home!
