Orienta Shawl KAL: April 2026
Welcome to the Orienta Shawl Knit Along (KAL)!
The Orienta Shawl KAL features Malabrigo Sock and the gorgeous design by Cory Boberg! The shawl calls for two contrasting colors of Sock and uses stripes, garter stitch and beginner-friendly lace to create an eye catching accessory!
To register for the KAL, click the link below and complete the registration form. Malabrigo will send a follow up email to confirm you are all set!
Pattern
The pattern will be emailed to all registered participants as we near the cast on date of April 3rd. If you want to get more information about the shawl, check out finished projects, or just get it on your queue, you can find the pattern on Ravelry.
Materials
You will need two skeins of a main color of Malabrigo Sock and one skein of a contrasting color for this project. The sample in the pattern was knit using a color from the new Aura Collection - Fulgar - as the main color and Three Little Pigs for contrast. The Malabrigo team does recommend high contrast to make the pattern shine!

The new Aura Collection from Malabrigo shifts, glows and changes depending on what you pair with it. There are 12 brand-new colorways on Sock and each one was created with depth, movement, and personality. Learn more and see each color individually on Malabrigo's blog! (We have ordered these colors and can't wait for them arrive in the shop!)
Want to put together your own color palette? We have lots of beautiful Malabrigo Sock in stock to choose from. Find the colors that speak to you and create a custom shawl that shows off your personality! Need help deciding? Our team loves to play with colors and would be happy to assist!

In addition to your yarn, you will need US 6 (4.0mm) circular needles with 40" cord to accommodate all of the stitches and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Gauge is not critical for a shawl, but if you are looking to have a similar sized wrap to the pattern, please note that you may need a different size needle to obtain the stated gauge.
Schedule
The Orienta Shawl KAL is expected to begin April 3rd and run through April 30th. Watch for details regarding weekly, live virtual check-ins with Jill Tamminen from @KnitSisu!
