Welcome to the Snowflower Knit Along designed by Martin Storey and hosted by Rowan!

The Snowflower pattern can be knit as a large scarf or as a cozy cowl with both tubular options featuring 10 gorgeous colorwork motifs designed by Martin Storey. One motif will be released each week allowing you to work at your pace and enjoy the process.

Pattern & Materials

To receive the free pattern, you will sign up as part of Rowan Connect where the pattern installments will be made available on the KAL's hub. (You won't be able to see the KAL's main page until you are signed up!) You'll receive weekly email reminders to log back in for each motif's release.

Click the link below to see the official shopping list for Martin Storey's Autumn Berries colorway! Felted Tweed works up at a DK weight and is a wonderful blend of 50% Merino Wool, 25% Alpaca and 25% Rayon that is both soft and durable. The Autumn Berries colors are beautiful, but we have dozens of colorways in stock to curate your own unique palette too!

Schedule

After the shopping list is released on August 17th, pattern releases will happen each Saturday beginning August 31 and wrapping up November 2nd. Virtual meetups will take place each Thursday afternoon beginning at 7:30pm British Summer Time which is 2:30pm Eastern Standard Time. Can't make the live events? They will be recorded and available on Rowan Connect so you don't miss out!

About the Designer

Martin Storey is a renown knitting designer known for his intricate cables and colorwork. He is known for always carrying a notebook, which could stem from his background in fashion or propensity for gaining inspiration from the world around us! We love how Martin describes himself on his website:

My greatest love in knitting is, first and foremost, working with yarns that knit up beautifully, wash well and feel good to knit with and, secondly, creating knit designs that are eminently wearable but also special – ideally designs that will stand the test of time and become favourite heirloom pieces that you wear and wear again.
