- Description
Ever pass up a pattern because the finishing called for a crochet border? Fret no more, knitters! Let us walk you through the basics of crochet by demonstrating two commonly used crochet border techniques.
- Craft: Crochet
-
Prerequisites: How to tension yarn while knitting.
- Yarn + Class Materials: Worsted-weight yarn in 2 colors, US H crochet hook. Note: While you’re encouraged to bring your own needles/notions, we request that yarn used in classes be purchased at MFY. Yarns we recommend include: Cascade 220 Superwash or Encore yarn and one of these Clover Soft Touch crochet hooks
- Homework: Please arrive with two pre-made swatches of yarn using the pattern below - you will learn using your own your pre-made swatches. Ideally your border yarn and swatches are two contrasting colors, but that is not required. Swatch (please make 2): Using a worsted yarn and appropriately sized needles, cast on 20 sts. Knit approximately 20 rows of stockinette stitch (knit on front; purl on the back); bind off loosely.
- Cost: $25/person (materials not included)
