I had a skein of this yarn and was running short on yardage. I took a chance and did a search and your company came up. I took a chance and ordered the skein knowing all too well it would probably be a different dye lot. I couldn’t believe it when I looked at the numbers and it was the exact same dye lot. Thank you so much.

The yarn is soft and with enough give for socks. The wool makes them warm. I fit the socks as I knit them to my recipients’ feet. With leftover yarn from my husband’s and a friend’s socks and, I made a small pair for my granddaughter.
The sock was made using a three number 1 sized mini circular needles and ideas from a combination of patterns (“Buttonjar’s Favorite Basic Sock” by Julie Cashin and “Leftover Sneaker” by Anja Heumann)
Cuff & leg
cuff (Row 1: two knit, two perl Row 2: Perl two, Knit 2)
Heel flap
Knit half the stitches onto another needle. Secure the others so They don’t slip off the other needle. Once the stitches are separated, use a third mini circular needle to knit the heel flap (Row 1: knit skip, then knit two at end, Row 2: knit on both ends and perl across)
End with perl row. There should be as many rows as there are stitches in the heel flap
The knits at the beginning and end of the perl rows form the stitches to pickup for the gusset
I followed what patterns generally recommend for the gusset heal and toe picking up all of the stitches on one mini circular needle but marking the locations of the ends of the sides and middle of heel to keep the right orientation when decreasing in the gusset and toe.
I used the calculations in HOW TO KNIT SOCKS THAT FIT by Donna Drachunas to figure out general lengths and circumference but found that deducting two inches for forming the toe from the foot length made the socks snugger than my husband and granddaughter liked.

Have used this fiber several times and love the heather stripes. Nice colors. Used Lisa Knits Little Waves which makes for wavy stripe effect.

I’m am making the Summer Net Shawl by Alaina Moon, free on Ravelry, using this yarn. I wanted the patriotic colorway because my daughter works for Wounded Warriors and I thought it would be a nice addition to her work wardrobe.
