- Description
The Island and the Forest: A Knitted Correspondence is a deeply thoughtful and beautifully composed book that blends knitwear design with personal storytelling. Through a series of letters, Swedish designers Erika Åberg and Lotta H. Löthgren share reflections on their lives, one on the island of Gotland, the other in the quiet forests of southeast Sweden.
Structured around the four elements:earth, water, fire, and air. This book moves through the seasons and the natural world, offering an intimate look at creativity, meaning, and connection. Alongside their written correspondence, the book includes 12 timeless knitwear patterns inspired by their surroundings, designed to be both practical and enduring.
This is more than a pattern book, it is an immersive, meditative experience that invites you to slow down, reflect, and create with intention.
